East Texas Regional Airport Marshall is a public airport located four miles northeast of Marshall, in Gregg County, Texas. It is owned by the City of Marshall and operated by the East Texas Regional Airport Authority. The airport covers an area of 1,200 acres (482 ha) and has two asphalt runways: 6/24 measuring 4,001 x 150 ft (1,219 x 46 m) and 2/20 measuring 2,438 x 75 ft (773 x 23 m). It also has a turf runway 11/29 measuring 1,600 x 75 ft (488 x 23 m). In the year ending September 30, 2016 the airport had 12,000 aircraft operations, an average of 44 per day.
The airport was established in 1935 as an auxiliary field for Will Rogers Field in Fort Worth. It was renamed East Texas Regional Airport in 1985 in honor of Congressman John J. Marshall who served from 1917 to 1933 as Speaker of the House of Representatives and as United States Senator from Texas.
The Shreveport Airport Marshall is the only facility in Louisiana certified to give medical clearance to small aircraft. The airport offers a variety of services and facilities that cater to both private and commercial aviation interests.
